Incoming students can 'Be A Lion' this summer

For some incoming Penn State Brandywine students, school isn’t really out for summer. Students scheduled to begin their college career at the campus this fall can get a head start this summer with the brand new Be A Lion (also known as Brandywine’s Edge on Academics) program.

Be A Lion is an opportunity for new students to start their Penn State career in a small-college atmosphere within the larger University. Students will become part of “prides” and will meet faculty, get acquainted with the campus, make friends with other new students and participate in one of three prides: "Race, Identity and Social Justice," "Mass Media Shapes U.S. History" or "Musical Theater and Self-Expression."

The program, which runs from July 5 to Aug. 11, Tuesday through Thursday, is only for first-year students offered admission to the campus. Each student must apply and meet certain academic requirements.

For more information or to sign up for the program, visit http://www.bw.psu.edu/bealion/ or contact Senior Instructor in English Patricia Hillen at 610-892-1372 or pah14@psu.edu.
