June 16, 2010

Pennsylvania Centre Stage, in its 25th year of professional theatre, will present "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" from June 23 to July 3, in the Citizens Bank Theatre, at the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center, 146 S. Allen St., in State College, Pa.

"CTRL+ALT+DELETE," written by Anthony Clarvoe and directed by Dan Carter, explores the world of high finance in the heady dot com boom days. When Eddie Fisker, a young entrepreneur comes up with an idea for a Gizmo that will instantly connect everyone on a single platform, he approaches Gus Belmont, financial guru and moneymaker who has just recently had a near-death experience after a heart attack. Belmont loves the idea and charges one of his employees with creating the start-up company and hiring whoever it takes to bring in the investors.

Professional actors include Paul O’Brien (Gus Belmont), who is appearing for his first time with Centre Stage, but has an extensive acting career on and off-Broadway, in regional theatres, and in film and television. Nika Ericson (Toria Bruno) is received her master of fine arts degree in acting from Penn State. Since completing her degree in 2008, she moved to Chicago where she has worked with such companies as Writer’s Theatre, Chicago Dramatists, First Folio, Stage Left Theatre, and Babes with Blades. Completing the cast are recent M.F.A. acting graduates Amir Abdullah, Joseph Barone, Lara Knox and Nick Reynolds.
