Penn State Hershey to hold Independence Day celebration

Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center will present “An American Salute,” an Independence Day celebration, on the Medical Center front lawn. The concert -- beginning at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 4 -- will feature a patriotic performance from the Hershey Symphony Orchestra. The event is free to the public. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Free, convenient parking is available.

At about 10 p.m., following the concert, attendees will be able to view Hersheypark’s fireworks from the lawn.

The concert is sponsored by Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine, the Hershey Symphony Orchestra and Hershey Entertainment and Resorts. This is the seventh year for the free holiday concert. Attendance has grown from 1,000 attendees to more than 4,000 in recent years.
