Mackay elected to American Board of Plastic Surgery

Donald Mackay, the William P Graham III Professor of Plastic Surgery and vice chair for clinical affairs in the Department of Surgery at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, was recently elected a director of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The mission of The American Board of Plastic Surgery Inc. is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification and maintenance of certification (MOC) of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.

The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) is one of 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Through the ABMS, the boards establish common standards for physicians to achieve and maintain board certification.
