University Park, Pa. -- "Runt of the Litter," a family-friendly production starring former Houston Oilers defensive back Bo Eason, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, in Schwab Auditorium.

Tickets are $30 for an adult, $17 for a University Park student and $24 for a person 18 and younger. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.cpa.psu.edu/ or by phone at 814-863-0255. Outside the local calling area, dial 800-ARTS-TIX. Tickets also are available at four State College locations: Eisenhower Auditorium (weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Penn State Tickets Downtown (weekdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), HUB-Robeson Center Information Desk (weekdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Bryce Jordan Center (weekdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). A grant from the University Park Allocation Committee makes Penn State student prices possible.

In his autobiographical one-man play, Eason relates his powerful story of growing up in the shadow of an older brother destined for football stardom. By sticking to his 20-year plan, created at age 9, the younger Eason was able to attain his own lofty athletic goals.

A critic for The New York Times calls Runt of the Litter “one of the most powerful plays in the last decade.”

Eason’s story proves that believing in yourself and the ability to achieve your dream -- coupled with grit and determination -- can lead to incredible results. Inspiring, uplifting, funny and ultimately life-affirming, "Runt of the Litter" speaks to the power of persistence in an instant-gratification world.

Beating the Odds Foundation and U.S. Foodservice (Western PA) sponsors the presentation. ESPN Radio 1450 is the media sponsor. Artistic Viewpoints, an informal moderated discussion featuring a visiting artist or local expert, is offered in Schwab Auditorium one hour before the performance and is free for ticket holders.
