Free self-defense class for female students

University Park, Pa. -- Certified instructors from Penn State University Police will offer a free self-defense class for female students. Rape Aggression Defense: A self-defense class for women students is a basic course introducing self-defense techniques to female Penn State students. The four classes are from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 13, 15, 20 and 22 in 117 Weston Community Center at the White Course apartment complex in State College.

The sessions will teach awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance options, realistic, usable defense tactics, a lecture and extensive hands-in training that will enable students to develop confidence and proficiency and a free lifetime practice policy to return to any RAD class, anywhere.

Students can sign up from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday in 204 Boucke. Additional information is available by calling 814-863-2027.
