Cycling group to join national Spokes for Hope cancer awareness effort

At 1 p.m. on Sept. 12, Cyclists Combating Cancer, a cancer survivor and advocate group, will start the Hershey "spoke" at the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute as part of a national ride called Spokes of Hope. The ride, which spans from California to Washington, D.C., is designed to educate the community and legislators about cancer, cancer resources and cancer survivorship. The local team is led by Cancer Institute patient and 11-year cancer survivor Sharon Duncan. A banner signed by patients, families and staff will travel with the Spokes of Hope team to Washington, D.C. Learn more at online.
