Campus events draw more than 1,000 people

On the evening of Thursday, Oct. 7, more than 700 people attended the 10th annual Beaver County College Fair in Penn State Beaver's gymnasium, and 300 people attended the General Election Debate held in the campus auditorium.

The College Fair, which is co-sponsored by the Beaver County Times, is considered the premier college fair serving Beaver county students and featured representatives from more than 100 of the nation’s colleges, universities and technical schools, as well as the military. The General Election Debate, which was co-sponsored by the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce, Clearview Federal Credit Union and Beaver campus, featured a variety of current legislators and their opponents, including Democratic Congressman Jason Altmire (4th congressional district); his Republican opponent, Keith Rothfus; Republican State Representative Jim Christiana (15th legislative district), and his opponent, Democrat Frank Bovalino.
