Follow Penn State on Facebook, Twitter to stay connected

University Park, Pa. — Penn Staters around the world can join the fast-growing online community staying connected to the University and fellow Nittany Lions as fans of the official Penn State page on Facebook and followers of the official University Twitter feeds.

The University's official page on Facebook, at http://www.facebook.com/pennstate, is a hub of daily activity, featuring photos, videos, contests (with prizes like tickets for Penn State football games and shows at the Center for the Performing Arts), news, trivia and answers to questions, along with discussions among fans and Penn State staff. As of October, the page has more than 152,000 fans (or, in Facebook parlance, "likes") placing it among the largest official pages of any college or university in the nation.

On Twitter, more than 1,800 people are following the newest official Penn State Twitter account at http://twitter.com/penn_state, which features personal daily conversation, photos, videos and more. Nearly 8,000 people are following the Penn State Live feed at http://twitter.com/pennstatelive to keep up-to-date with the biggest headlines of the day from the University.

With winter fast approaching, following Penn State on Twitter and Facebook also gives members of the University community another way to receive up-to-the-minute announcements of emergency notifications and cancellations.

Penn State's Pollock Dining Commons is also on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pollockpsu. Become a fan to access the daily menu and learn about upcoming events in one of the largest dining commons on campus.
