High wind threat shuts down Paternoville

Paternoville, the tent city set up outside Beaver Stadium by students in advance of the Michigan game this weekend, has been temporarily shut down due to safety concerns.

A fast-moving cold front that has caused tornadoes and heavy wind damage through the midwest is moving across Ohio and is expected to reach the State College area this evening. Although the forecasts are not calling for tornadoes locally, there is a high probability of heavy winds that could cause damage. Because of this, the University has asked students to take down their tents and leave Paternoville by 6 p.m. today (Oct. 26). Once the University has determined that the danger has passed, Paternoville will be permitted to re-form.
