Workflow termination form available University-wide

The Penn State Workflow System is helping to streamline and modernize the way Penn State does business, and as of Nov. 2, the Workflow Termination form will be available University-wide. Termination is a standard Office of Human Resources process that is implemented whenever an individual leaves an appointment at Penn State. Completing this process via Workflow ensures all campus termination procedures fully comply with University regulations.

The intuitive, Web-based form allows the submitter to complete the form quickly and efficiently. Form approvals, which are often multiple when completing the process, are simple to complete and easy to follow throughout the process. In addition, if there are any questions, online resources and tutorials are available to assist submitters and approvers.

Prior to this University-wide release, the Termination form had been used successfully in select locations across Penn State for about a year, with positive feedback from users.

"The Workflow Termination form is easy to use. The form fills in the employee’s information and automatically calculates final salary simply by entering the workday factor or number of hours of vacation and/or sick time. It makes the process go quickly," said Lisa Brooks, human resources assistant in the College of Agricultural Sciences.

Termination is the first Human Resources process to be integrated into Workflow, and future announcements regarding the University-wide release of other Workflow forms will be made as they become available.

Workflow is a University-wide, Web-based system designed to streamline the processing of forms that require review and approval from multiple sources. Workflow is available through the Penn State Administrative Web Suite (PAWS) at http://paws.psu.edu/ online. PAWS serves as a gateway into a diverse collection of employee services and tools and is quickly becoming known as "the place to go to get work done."

Workflow and PAWS are services of Administrative Information Services (AIS), a unit of Information Technology Services (ITS).
