Beaver alumni, students participate in 21st annual Festival of Trees

The Penn State Beaver Alumni Society and the Penn State Beaver Blue and White Society are participating in the 21st annual Beaver County Festival of Trees in November and December. The event will be held at Brady’s Run Park Lodge, 526 Brady’s Run Road, Beaver Falls.

The Blue and White Society is a student-based service organization involved in outreach efforts on campus and in the community. The Alumni Society recently raised $22,500 for student scholarships at Beaver campus.

The Festival of Trees will feature more than 50 themed holiday trees that are purchased and decorated by area businesses, organizations and individuals. All trees will be auctioned on the last day of the event.

Auction proceeds benefit scholarships and clothing for children served by Beaver County Children and Youth Services and the U.S. SARR Corps, which provides search, rescue and recovery for missing children and adults.

The Festival of Trees will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 25; from noon to 9 p.m. Nov. 26-28; 5 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 3; and from noon to 9 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 5. Admission is free from children five years old and younger; 50 cents for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years, and $3 for people between the ages of 13 and 62. The fee is $2 for people 63 years old and older.
