WPSU announces Comcast 'video on demand' schedule for early December

Comcast cable will offer several shows produced by Penn State Public Broadcasting on its Video on Demand service from Nov. 30 to Dec. 20.

Available through Dec. 20: “Seeps in Winter,” (2006). Where do animals hide during the winter months? A forest expert explains how to use groundwater seep to track some animals.

Available through Dec. 20: “The New Young Adult,” (2010). The transition from adolescence into adulthood is changing. Young adults live longer with their parents and start their own families later in life. Join a discussion about the effects of these new trends on parents and children.

Available through Dec. 6: “Sports Gambling,” (2007). Is gambling an addiction like drugs or alcohol? Hear what an FBI veteran and a former mob member has to say about the dangers of gambling and the realities of life as a gangster.

Available from Nov. 30 to Dec. 6: “No Snow Moscow,” (2009). The mayor of Moscow, Russia, promised no big snowstorms last winter. He planned to use the Russian Air Force to "seed" clouds, inducing them to dump their snow before they get to the city.

Available from Nov. 30 to Dec. 6: “TV Quarterbacks: Pitt,” (1980). Penn State and Pitt were always two of the biggest rivals in the country. The dramatic game of 1980 encapsulated the rivalry. In one of the biggest games of the season, the number 5 ranked Nittany Lions fell to the number 4 ranked Pitt Panthers, 14-9.
