Students delighted by the Paternos' visit to Libraries

December 15, 2010

A film crew from the Big Ten recently interviewed Sue and Joe Paterno in the Paterno Humanities Reading Room, in Pattee Library on Penn State's University Park campus.

The Paternos' visit surprised and delighted students studying during their last few days of classes this semester -- especially when the couple took the time to converse with several groups.

For years, Sue and Joe Paterno have been pillars of Penn State and the community through their personal philanthropy and tireless volunteerism. Ongoing support from the Paterno family has helped to make the University Libraries a top-ranking library. This fall, to launch the For the Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students, the Paternos gave a very special endorsement for the Libraries in a video that shows how today's library helps students.
