Faculty and staff invited to tour THON behind the scenes, participate

January 19, 2011

The weekend of Feb. 18-20, 2011, will mark the 39th Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, more affectionately known as THON. All Penn State faculty and staff are invited to take part in various THON activities and experience the culmination of the year-long fundraising event.

From 4:30 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, Penn State faculty and staff will have the opportunity to tour the concourse, mezzanine and event levels of the Bryce Jordan Center to see THON behind the scenes.
Immediately following, from 5 to 5:15 p.m., the Morale Committee will teach the THON 2011 Line Dance to prepare for the faculty and staff performance onstage. The line dance is created to keep dancers motivated and moving throughout the long weekend.

Saturday night, Faculty and Staff are invited to return for the Pep Rally and sit in the “Diamond Zone,” similar to the S-Zone in Beaver Stadium. The Pep Rally will feature entertaining performances by Penn State athletic teams and other organizations.

If interested in one or more of the events, please RSVP by Friday, Feb. 4, to Faculty Outreach Captain Marlee Kattler at mpk5058@gmail.com. For more information about THON, please visit www.THON.org online.
