Bus detours announced for Thursday

University Park, Pa. -- As a result of President Barack Obama's scheduled visit to Penn State's University Park campus on Thursday, Feb. 3, there will be some campus shuttle service detours and delays, in addition to the other changes to campus routines announced at http://live.psu.edu/story/51116 online.

On Thursday, campus shuttle stops 9, 10 and 11 on Burrowes Road will be closed from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. Stop 12 will pick up in front of Pattee Library on Curtin Road. The Campus shuttle stops are expected to resume normal operation after 2 p.m.

In addition, Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) buses will experience delays and detours between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Between approximately 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Burrowes Road between College Avenue and Curtin Road will be closed and buses normally traveling Burrowes Road will detour to Atherton Street. There will be no service during this time to the following stops: Rec Hall, Deike Building, Beta Theta Pi and Rider Building.

Between approximately noon and 1:30 p.m., Curtin Road between Atherton Street and Allen Road and buses normally traveling this section of Curtin Road will detour using Allen Road and Park Avenue. There will be no service during this time at the Pattee Transit Center.
