Lion Surplus accepting old electronic equipment at recycling event

March 04, 2011

Electronic Recycling Day, hosted by Keystone State Auctioneers and Lion Surplus, will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 29 at the Lion Surplus Building on Services Road on the University Park campus. The annual event provides a free, easy way for members of the Penn State community to recycle their old electronic equipment. Items only will be accepted from Penn State employees and students.

Acceptable items include desktop computers, monitors, hard drives, keyboards, mice, peripherals, printers, circuit boards, laptops, DVD players, electric typewriters, fax machines, cell phones, modems, pagers, PDAs and VCRs.

Hundreds of members of the Penn State community participated in last year's event, which diverted more than 12 tons of electronic equipment from landfills. For more information, call 814-865-4371. Items will be accepted only during the event, and organizers reserve the right to refuse any item.
