Penn State Beaver faculty publications and presentations are announced

Four Penn State Beaver faculty members recently authored, co-authored, and presented research publications and papers.

C. Chris Wu, professor of mathematics, co-authored "Trees, Animals, and Percolation on Hyperbolic Lattices" which was published by the Electronic Journal of Probability. Talha Harcar, associate professor of business, co-authored a paper titled "Factors Effecting Purchasing Behaviors: Intentions, Experiences, and Choices" which he presented at the Consumer Behavior session of the 17th International Conference on Recent Advances in Retailing and Services Science in Istanbul, Turkey. Kay Wijekumar, associate professor of information sciences and technology, co-authored an article, "Web-Based Tutoring of the Structure Strategy With or Without Elaborated Feedback or Choice for Fifth and Seventh-Grade Readers," in the Reading Research Quarterly. "Mini-Modeling Measurements," written by Anthony J. Sadar, lecturer in meteorology, was published in a recent edition of Pollution Engineering magazine. Sadar is a board-certified consulting meteorologist for the American Meteorological Society.

Wu holds a doctorate in applied mathematics from the University of Arizona and a master's degree in mathematical sciences from The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, The Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu, China. Harcar earned his doctorate in business administration and a master's degree in marketing research from Istanbul University as well as a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts. Wijekumar holds a doctoral degree in instructional systems from Penn State and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh. Sadar earned a master's degree in environmental science from the University of Cincinnati and a master's degree in science education from the University of Pittsburgh.
