Is your brain stimulated? Brain Awareness Week is March 14-20

Penn State Hershey Neuroscience Institute is observing Brain Awareness Week March 14-20. The Institute specializes in expert stroke care, treatment of brain tumors, deep brain stimulation treatment for Parkinson's disease, epilepsy and much more. The Neuroscience Institute works to promote healthy brain aging by encouraging physical, mental and social activity along with following a heart healthy diet, such as the Mediterranean diet, which has been shown to help delay loss of memory. The Institute also treats the brain when it is not healthy and educates clinicians, students and the public on how the brain works.

The Neuroscience Institute has active research programs into many brain disorders. Because of these and other research studies over the past two decades, there have been significant advancements made in the management of brain disorders. Doctors now have treatments for brain disorders that had no treatments in the past.
