Abstract:

The Penn State Institutional Research Interest group is guided by the belief that although there are many excellent data and analysis resources at Penn State, the University can do a better job of communication, collaboration, and sharing in the increasingly pertinent domain of institutional research. Our goal is to help those who produce, analyze and use data for planning and decision-making to do so more effectively. Topics already suggested include, for example, student surveys and analyses (PULSE, NSSE, student satisfaction); research on student transitions and success; research on student/faculty/staff use of wikis and blogs; resources such as Factbook Plus, the common data set, and IPEDS; Business Intelligence project updates and demonstrations; and Commonwealth Campus IR challenges and solutions.
