UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- "Pennsylvania --Your Money Matters," a new educational program created by Penn State Extension, will be presented in three Web-based seminars from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m on April 6, 13 and 20.
The program aims to help adults get a handle on basic money skills and concepts that can make the difference in whether they flourish or flounder financially when managing their personal and family finances. The April 6 webinar will cover spending, the April 13 session will address saving and the April 20 webinar will focus on credit.
The cost for the three sessions is $25. Registered participants will have access to the webinar recordings online for one month after each session is held.
"The old cliche, 'It's not what you make, it's what you keep,' has some truth," said course originator Cathy Bowen, Penn State professor of agricultural and extension education. "A better version of this cliché is one that should be a personal mantra: 'It's not what you make, it's what you do with what you make.' Is your money working hard for you, or are you just working hard for money and not taking the steps within your control to maximize the use of your earnings?"
