WPSU announces Comcast 'video on demand' schedule for mid April

Comcast cable will offer several shows produced by Penn State Public Broadcasting on its Video on Demand service in the coming weeks.

Available through April 18: “Getting Good Sleep,” (2006). If you struggle to get the recommended eight hours of sleep each night, you're not alone. However, the solution may be simpler than you think. Dr. John Messmer shares tips on how to achieve and maintain a healthy sleep schedule.

Available through April 18: “Growing Blueberries,” (2006). Kathy Demchak, senior extension associate in Penn State's Department of Horticulture explains how to grow the very best blueberries.

Available through April 25: “Debating Evolution,” (2008). Hear filmmaker and scientist Randy Olson's thoughts on evolution and intelligent design as he talks about his documentary film, "Flock of Dodos." Who are the "dodos" in the debate?

Available through April 25: “Pest Management,” (2006). Extension Agent Tom Butzler shows how to identify and control pests.

Available through May 2: “Rare March Event,” (2011). In terms of the time of year, the tornado in Westmoreland County a couple of weeks ago was unusual, though that county is near the top of the list in terms of reported tornadoes in Pennsylvania. We take a closer look at the climatology of tornadoes in Pennsylvania.
