Academic Festival to showcase student achievement on April 13

April 11, 2011

The Sixth Annual Penn State Mont Alto Academic Festival will be held on campus Wednesday, April 13, and it will showcase student achievement from the past year.  A full list of student participants follows below.

Sponsored by F&M Trust Company, the event highlights academic work that has been researched, developed and created by Penn State Mont Alto throughout the 2010-11 academic year. "This is a great opportunity for students to present the results of their work on undergraduate projects to fellow students and faculty, as well as the local community," said Robin Yaure, chair of the Academic Festival Committee.

Individual and group projects to be featured cover a wide range of topics including English, engineering, forestry, human development and family studies, nursing, psychology, technology and much more. In addition to the academic presentations, a student art show will be held in the Museum of Temporary Art located on the first floor of the General Studies Building. The exhibit will be displayed throughout the day.

A detailed scheduled for April 13 follows:

  • 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.: Formal presentation conducted, and poster presentations displayed in the Multipurpose Activities Center (gymnasium)
  • 4:00 p.m.: Student Art Exhibit reception in The Museum of Temporary Art in the Student Success Center, first floor of General Studies Building
  • 4:00 p.m.: All awards announced in the Auditorium, first floor of General Studies Building
