California engineer to present two Barrer Lectures

Galen Stucky, chemical engineering professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara, will give two 2011 Barrer Lectures this week, sponsored by the Departments of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

Stucky will speak at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in 102 Chemistry Building on Penn State's University Park campus. He will present "Zeolite and R. M. Barrer Inspired Nanoscience and Nanotechnology."

Stucky's second Barrer lecture will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, in 102 Chemistry Building on Penn State's University Park campus.

He will present "Putting together components and function in heterostructured photovoltaic and thermoelectric systems."

Both lectures are part of the Chemical Engineering Seminar Series. They are free and open to the public.
