Summer Institute to focus on regional collaboration and development

University Park, Pa. — This year’s Community and Economic Development (CEDEV) Summer Institute, sponsored annually by the Penn State CEDEV Graduate Program, will bring together community development practitioners and educators and Penn State faculty, staff and students to examine models of regional collaboration and development, understand the role of communities in the process of regional collaboration, review successful strategies for collaboration and consider the advantages and challenges of regional development. The conference will be held June 15-17 at The Atherton Hotel in State College, Pa.

Practitioners representing regional organizations across the country will share their experiences, and participants will have many opportunities to network with presenters and colleagues. The Summer Institute is open to participation from the public and provides an opportunity for current students and alumni of the graduate program, community development professionals, leaders, concerned citizens and faculty to collaborate and examine critical issues in community and economic development.

Scholarships are available to help defray the cost of registration, travel or tuition for attendees. For more information about the CEDEV Summer Institute, including the full schedule and registration, please visit http://agsci.psu.edu/graduatestudents/cedev/summer-institute online.
