Department of Biobehavioral Health to celebrate 20 years

Penn State's Department of Biobehavioral Health is hosting a 20th anniversary celebration on May 6 and 7. The event -- to be held in the Board Room of The Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus -- is free and open to the public and will include biobehavioral health alumni, students, and current and past faculty and staff.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. for the Friday sessions which run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. for the Saturday sessions, which run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The celebration will kick off on Friday morning with remarks by Anne Petersen, founding dean of the College of Health and Human Development. Sessions throughout the day on Friday will focus on topics including health promotion, global health, and the integration of biological and behavioral issues in the study of health.

Saturday’s events include panel discussions with biobehavioral health alumni, and closing remarks by Collins Airhihenbuwa, head of the Department of Biobehavioral Health.
