WPSU announces Comcast 'video on demand' schedule for May/June

Comcast cable will offer several shows produced by Penn State Public Broadcasting on its Video on Demand service in the coming weeks.

Available from May 10 to May 23: “Tsunami Science,” (2011). The powerful earthquake on March 11, 2011 near Japan generated a tsunami that had significant effects even across the Pacific Ocean. What happened along the U.S. West Coast, and how are tsunamis detected and forecast?

Available through May 30: “Chernobyl 25th,” (2011). This week marks the 25th anniversary of the nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl, a disaster in which meteorology provided the initial evidence of a radioactive leak even before the Soviets admitted there was a problem.

Available from May 10 to June 6: “Self-Injury,” (2008). Cutting is becoming increasingly more common among the youth of our nation. Hear psychiatrist Candace Good discuss the different types of self-injury, and find out how to identify such behavior.
