Hoover named director of development and alumni relations

Marissa Graby Hoover has been named director of development and alumni relations at Penn State Harrisburg.

A 2000 graduate of Penn State with a degree in elementary education, Hoover joined the Penn State Harrisburg Office of Development and Alumni Relations in 2004 and, since January 2011, had served as its interim director. Previously, she was associate director of development.

“We are pleased that Ms. Hoover will continue in this leadership role at Penn State Harrisburg,” said Chancellor Mukund Kulkarni. “She has been an integral part of our recent fund-raising successes and her wealth of experience and understanding of the campus community and the region will be an asset as we look forward to achieving the goals established in ‘For the Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students.’”

An Academic All-American basketball player for the Penn State Lady Lions, Hoover was captain of the team that reached the 2000 NCAA Tournament Final Four. She holds a master’s degree in sport and recreation administration from Temple University.

“The education and opportunities I received at Penn State allowed me to create a better future for myself and would not have been possible without the scholarship that I received from the University,” Hoover said. “Education is my passion and I am pleased to be in a position in which I can help provide others with the opportunity to attend college and to follow their dreams for a better future.”
