Sports camps, Arts Fest to affect traffic at University Park July 9-15

The Penn State Parking office has announced anticipated congestion and changes to traffic patterns on Penn State's University Park campus beginning July 9. The arrival and departure of participants in sports camps being held on campus, and the beginning of the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, likely will lead to a large number of vehicles accessing the areas around West Halls on July 9, and 12-15.

To provide safe access for vehicles and pedestrians, University Police will establish a one-way northbound traffic pattern on Fraser Road from Pollock Road to Curtin Road on July 12 and 13. The bollards at the north end of Fraser Road will be removed, allowing traffic to exit Fraser Road onto Curtin Road. No traffic will be permitted to travel south on Fraser Road.

Also, to help reduce congestion, and to provide Brown E parking permit holders with an alternate parking area, Brown E permits will be valid in the Nittany Parking Deck (adjacent to the Nittany Lion Inn) from July 12-15.
