Healing Yoga: Six-week session starts July 27

July 13, 2011

Practicing yoga and meditation in a group develops and supports feelings of connection and emotional well-being. Gentle movements, breathing techniques, and healing meditations help participants feel safe in their bodies.

From 6:45 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays from July 27 to Aug. 31, registered yoga teacher Dan Coma will lead a healing yoga class as a complement to medical care for individuals recovering from cancer (patients who recently had surgery or are receiving radiation or chemotherapy must receive written clearance from their health care provider), and family members who are supporting a loved one. No prior yoga experience is necessary. The class will be held on Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center’s East Health Campus, at 30 Hope Drive (Entrance A), Room 1710 A/B. A fee of $100 includes all classes and a private session to assess personal needs.

For more information and to register, call the front desk at the University Fitness Center 717-531-7075 or visit http://www.PennStateHershey.org/ufc online.
