Four Penn State aerospace engineers win AIAA graduate awards

Four current or former aerospace engineering students are among the recipients of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Foundation graduate awards.

Chandrashekhar Tiwari and Jill Tombasco, were two of the four winners of the $10,000 Orville and Wilbur Wright Graduate Award. Tiwari is an aerospace engineering doctoral student at Penn State while Tombasco is a 2005 aerospace engineering graduate pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of Colorado.

Brian Pomeroy, a 2006 aerospace engineering graduate, was one of four recipients of the $5,000 Martin Summerfield Graduate Award in Propellants and Combustion. Pomeroy is currently a doctoral student at Purdue University.

Bruce Davis, a 2006 aerospace engineering graduate, received one of four $5,000 awards for outstanding scholarship in fields covered by AIAA's technical committees. He is a doctoral student at the University of Colorado.

Emily Wolf, a rising junior in aerospace engineering, also received an undergraduate award from AIAA.
