De Reus is invited speaker at UNESCO forum

Lee Ann De Reus, associate professor of Human Development & Family Studies and Women's Studies, is spending this week as an invited speaker at a training forum at the University of Connecticut. For the second year in a row, she is speaking at the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization Chair & Institute of Comparative Human Rights annual International Leadership Training Forum.

The title of her address is, "Understanding the Effects of War and Gender-Based Violence: The Experiences of Girls and Women in the Democratic Republic of Congo."
This forum brings together approximately 80 proven human rights activists, ages 18 to 35 from around the world for 10 days of workshops, speakers, networking, and strategizing.
