UHS Pharmacy expands third-party prescription plan participation

August 16, 2011

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Negotiations over the past year have led to an expansion of third-party prescription plan participation for the University Health Services (UHS) Pharmacy. Two of the most widely used plans now accepted are TriCare and Catalyst. UHS participates with more than 30 plans.

"We strive to respond to our customers' needs, and hope that the increased plan participation will benefit our patrons," said James Gill, UHS chief pharmacist.

Customers must present a copy of the prescription card (front and reverse) at the time of service. UHS can direct-bill some prescription plans, including TriCare, and electronically submit the claims. Return customers can order refills either by phone or through the UHS website. Faculty, staff and graduate students also may have their prescriptions mailed to a campus address.

Additional information, including the full list of accepted prescription cards, is available at http://studentaffairs.psu.edu/health/services/pharmacy online. Questions about UHS Pharmacy services may be directed to uhspharmacy@sa.psu.edu or 814-865-9321.
