Updated information on parking changes for Alabama game coming soon

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – As the result of heavy rain received in the past week, Penn State has announced the closure of several grass lots near Penn State's Beaver Stadium for Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. football game against Alabama. About 2,500 vehicles will be redirected to offsite parking lots; the vast majority of fans will not be affected by these changes. Free shuttles will be provided to patrons parking in offsite lots. The Penn State Athletic Department is working diligently with businesses in the community to identify offsite parking areas -- more information about offsite parking will be posted as soon it becomes available.

Penn State is asking football patrons for their patience and understanding, as the adverse weather has left some lots impassable. Fans are being urged to carpool, and those who can walk to the stadium are encouraged to do so. Car and RV drivers who normally park in the lots listed below will be affected, and should leave extra time for parking. Shuttle buses will run to offsite lots on a continual basis beginning at 10:30 a.m. and ending 90 minutes after the conclusion of the game.

All parking lots, on and off campus, will open at 8 a.m. Prepaid parking passes will be honored at all lots. Those who do not have a prepaid pass can purchase one as they enter.

Note: Yellow lots 11, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 will available for cars only on a first-come, first-served basis. When full, alternate accommodations will be made.

-- Yellow Lot 12 will be closed. Fans who normally park in this lot will be directed to leave their vehicles in designated offsite parking, to be identified later today.

-- Brown Lot will be closed. Those who normally park in Brown Lot will be directed to park in the Orange Lot off Park Avenue.

-- Yellow Lot 9 has limited availability on pavement areas only. Patrons who utilize ADA grass parking in Yellow Lot 9 will be redirected to the East Parking Deck on Bigler Road. This parking deck will be open only to those with ADA parking permits and it will be serviced by a shuttle to and from the stadium.

-- The Family-Friendly Lot will be moved from its regular location to a nearby lot. Patrons who already have a Family-Friendly Lot parking permit will be directed to the paved area in front of the Housing and Food Services Building along Services Road. Patrons should continue to enter campus from the west.

Note: Patrons who park RVs in reserved spaces on paved lots will not be affected. All others, see below.

-- Green and Purple lots: Patrons who have a reserved grass RV parking space will not be permitted to park RVs in these lots and are encouraged to bring cars. Those who bring an RV will be relocated to a suitable parking area.

-- Yellow lot RV parking: Game day Yellow Lot RV parking will not be permitted – those patrons will be relocated to a suitable parking area.

-- Overnight parking, Yellow Lot 19: Overnight RV parking in Yellow Lot 19 will be available, though part of the lot likely will be closed. Once overnight RV parking is filled, patrons will be directed to offsite parking. All overnight RV patrons will be permitted to stay until Sunday.
