Dementia care giving training seminar

September 14, 2011

Caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia can be difficult task and become overwhelming. As each day brings new challenges, the caregiver has to learn to cope with the changes that are happening in their loved one with dementia. Research has shown that caregivers can benefit from support from family, friends and the community and from training in the care giving process. An upcoming seminar will include information on the Alzheimer’s disease process, suggestions for caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease and ways to care for the caregiver.

The seminar will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 19, at 30 Hope Drive, Entrance A, Room 2702 on the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine campus. Contact Mark Allshouse  at 717-586-8351 or to attend.
