Penn State York sets financial aid nights at area high schools

Applications, deadlines, types of financial aid and more will be discussed during financial aid nights, to take place area high schools and offered by Penn State York. The first financial aid night is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, at Northeastern High school, 300 High Street, Manchester, Pa. The program is free and open to the public. The program is designed both for students about to graduate from high school and adults who are preparing for a return to the classroom.

Jessica Petrie, student aid coordinator at Penn State York, or Shaun Turner, director of admissions at Penn State York, will answer financial aid questions and discuss the philosophy of aid. Topics to be discussed include the importance of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and how to locate sources of funding to pay for an education.

Financial aid nights all take place at 7 p.m. and will take place in the following locations:

-- Oct. 25: Dover High School, 46 West Canal Street, Dover, Pa.

-- Nov. 8: Bermudian Springs High School, 7335 Carlisle Pike, York Springs, Pa.

-- Dec. 1: Susquehannock High School, 3280 Fissels Church Road, Glen Rock, Pa.

-- Dec. 7: South Western High School, 200 Bowman Road, Hanover, Pa,

-- Dec. 7: Kennard-Dale High School, 393 Main Street, Fawn Grove, Pa.

-- Dec. 12: Dallastown High School, 700 New School Lane, Dallastown, Pa.
