Vincent J. Intrieri is Penn State Erie's 2011 Alumni Fellow

ERIE, Pa. -- Erie native Vincent J. Intrieri, senior managing director of Icahn Capital Management and 1984 Penn State graduate, has been named the 2011 Alumni Fellow at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.

Alumni Fellow is a permanent and lifelong designation awarded by the Penn State Alumni Association to recognize Penn State graduates who are leaders in their professions. Intrieri was honored by the college at a dinner in mid-September, and will be recognized again at an event for all 24 of the 2011 Alumni Fellows taking place at the Nittany Lion Inn on Wednesday, Oct.5.

Intrieri also is a director or partner of a number of Icahn subsidiaries and holding companies, including Icahn Enterprises GP Inc., Icahn Capital LP, Icahn Associates Corp. and High River Limited Partnership. He joined Icahn in 1998, and has been described by Fortune magazine as “one of Carl Icahn’s two chief scouts and dealmakers ... a CPA with a sharp eye for salvageable bankruptcy situations.”

As an adult student at Penn State Behrend, Intrieri earned his accounting degree while working full-time at the Erie accounting firm of Root Spitznas & Smiley. After graduation, he joined Coopers & Lybrand in Pittsburgh, Price Waterhouse in Dallas, and Arthur Andersen in Chicago, where he was a partner in the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group. Prior to Icahn, he was portfolio manager for distressed investments at the New York City investment firm Elliot Associates.

Intrieri currently sits on the board of directors of Motorola Solutions Inc., XO Holdings Inc., Dynegy Inc, Icahn Enterprises LP, National Energy Group Inc., and Federal-Mogul Corp., and is chairman of PSC Metals Corp.

Intrieri is a member of the Board of Visitors of the Sam and Irene Black School of Business, where he has lectured on global business operations and the future of global corporations. Each year he hosts a lunch in New York City for members of the Penn State Behrend Economics Club, Black School of Business faculty, and Penn State Behrend alumni.

Intrieri and his wife, Joanne, live in New York City with their sons, Dominic and Anthony.
