"Penn State cares. That’s the bottom line," says Deb Krall, family program coordinator for the 171st Air Refueling Wing of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard in Coraopolis, Pa., In this PSU4PA video, Krall describes how Penn State staff, students and faculty are donating their time, resources, skills and income to aid military families across the state.

"Penn State helps manage our program, helps get the grants in -- they’re kind of behind the scenes supporting us," Krall says. When government cutbacks resulted in the elimination of grant funds, Penn State personnel rose to the challenge. Thanks to a $5,000 donation from a faculty member, more than a dozen kids attended a camp for children of service members. "The students from Penn State came over and did activities with our kids, and that was really neat," Krall adds.
