Painter and designer gives lecture on Oct. 11

Aaron Wexler, painter and independent designer, will give a free public lecture, "Some Assembly Required (Drawing with bits and pieces)," at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the Palmer Lipcon Auditorium, Palmer Museum of Art on the Penn State University Park campus. Wexler's lecture is sponsored by the Penn State School of Visual Arts' John M. Anderson Visiting Artists and Scholars Lecture Series.

Wexler received his bachelor's of fine art from Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, and his master's of fine art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As a painter, he has had numerous solo exhibitions including Josee Bienvenu Gallery, New York and One In The Other Gallery, London, UK. Selected group exhibitions include Lehmann Maupin Gallery, Oliver Kamm Gallery, and the 181st Annual Invitation Exhibition at the National Academy Museum, New York. His work is currently part of the on going exhibition Abstract America at the Saatchi Gallery in New York. As an independent designer, Wexler has done window displays and interior projects for several major stores, including Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys New York, Pantone, and Geoffrey Bradfield.
