Oct. 30: Sorority sisters host children's 'Trunk or Treat' event

Lions, tigers and bears, Transformers, M&Ms and Smurfs -- kids of all ages and disguises are invited to Penn State Behrend Panhellenic Council's first Trunk or Treat event, to be held Sunday, Oct. 30, in the Reed Union Building's McGarvey Commons at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.

Trunk or Treat -- based on a tradition of gathering in a parking area during Halloween festivities -- begins at 2 p.m. with crafts, coloring contests, face painting, photos with a scarecrow, and pumpkin painting. At 3:30 p.m., the gathered ghouls and goblins will move to the Reed parking lot for trunk-or-treating -- the sisters of Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Sigma Tau, and Theta Phi Alpha will be dressed in costume (as will their cars) and handing out candy.

Admission tickets for Trunk or Treat will be available at the door at a cost of $10 per child, or $8 each for families with three or more children. A discount of 50 percent per ticket will be offered for advance orders placed online at https://orgsync.com/21097/forms/show/38705 through Friday, Oct. 28.
