Increased safety measures in place for home athletics events

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Due to recent events, the Penn State Athletics Department will implement increased security measures for all home athletic events from Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 13.

Bags of any sort, including purses, will not be permitted at the Bryce Jordan Center, Greenberg Ice Pavilion, Jeffrey Field and Rec Hall.

For Saturday's (Nov. 12) football contest against Nebraska, fans are encouraged to arrive at gates earlier than usual as the extra safety measures may delay fans entrance into the stadium. Inspections will be more deliberate and thorough, and the University's regulation on bags will be strictly enforced.

All fans are encouraged to wear blue at Beaver Stadium for the Nittany Lions' noon kickoff against the Cornhuskers. The Senior Day matchup will air nationally on ESPN, as well as the Penn State Sports Network and GoPSUsports.com.
