Pay for Play fundraiser shatters old record, raises $112,200

The fifth annual People’s Pay for Play on 105.7 The X raised a record-breaking $112,200 for Children’s Miracle Network and the kids at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. The People’s Morning Show personalities, Nipsey, Earl David Reed, and Jen Shade, made the commitment to remain live on the air for the 28-hour marathon broadcast on Nov. 17 and 18. The radio station whose format is known as Active Rock Radio, allowed listeners to “Pay for Play” by making donations of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or more. The further the request was from the station’s normal format, the higher the donation to have the song played. Songs of all genres were played for significant donations to Children’s Miracle Network during the broadcast.
