CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – With THON Weekend 2012 just over a month away, the Penn State Lehigh Valley THON team is sponsoring their annual talent show and preparing for another canning weekend.
At 6 p.m. on Jan. 18, in room 135, the team will sponsor the Penn State LV's Got Talent show. The admission price of $5 in advance or $7 at the door will benefit THON. Tickets can be picked up in advance in room 214, Student Affairs.
From Jan. 20-22, look for Penn State Lehigh Valley students at area businesses where they will can for donations all weekend long. This year's canning sites include Walmart in Hatfield, Quakertown, Trexlertown, Whitehall, and Lehighton; Dunkin’ Donuts on Hamilton Street in Wescosville; McDonald’s in Trexlertown; and various businesses on Lehigh Street in Allentown.
The Penn State Lehigh Valley team's goal is to raise $27,000 for The Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital. Last year, they shattered their previous record by raising more than $24,000 toward the University total of more than $9 million.
