Birth control pill recall announced

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Qualitest Pharmaceuticals have recalled the following birth control pills: Cyclafem 7/7/7, Cyclafem 1/35, Emoquette, Gildess FE 1.5/30, Gildess FE 1/20, Orsythia, Previfem and Tri-Previfem. The University Health Services (UHS) pharmacy on the University Park campus of Penn State does not stock any of the recalled pills. Qualitest customers can call 877-300-6153 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT with questions, to arrange pill returns, or to report any problems.

Penn State students who require medical follow-up regarding this or other compromised contraceptive measures can call the UHS advice nurse at (814) 863-4463. Students can schedule an appointment with a women’s health provider online at https://uhsonline.psu.edu or by calling (814) 863-0774.
