UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State's Office of Human Resources has announced changes to the staff job announcements process. Beginning Feb. 29, all new staff job announcements will be posted on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, on the employment opportunities website at http://www.psu.jobs/. This site has been renamed to reflect the new, streamlined process that combines both the current internal job posting website and the public jobs website.
In addition, the employment opportunities website will feature new search capabilities and filter functions that will make it easier for job seekers to search for opportunities that match their interests. Also, a newly enhanced personalized job search feature will provide email notifications when jobs are announced that meet the employee or external candidate's specified criteria.
All staff job announcements will continue to be posted for a minimum of one week on the employment opportunities website. Users will be able to see each announcement’s posting date, as well as the posting end date by which materials must be submitted.
“These changes are the first steps in creating a focused, user-friendly job announcement system capable of attracting the best possible candidates for Penn State,” said Susan Basso, associate vice president of Human Resources. “From start to finish, we’ll be able to keep potential candidates better informed of new opportunities, announce and fill positions in a timely manner, and create more diverse candidate pools for each open position. Streamlining this process allows us to continue to support our current employees’ goals of development and promotion, as well as open the doors to attract new, talented people ready to begin a career here at Penn State.”
On Feb. 29, current employees who use the internal staff jobs website will be automatically redirected to the employment opportunities website at www.psu.jobs where all new job announcements will be posted.
