Volunteers still needed for USCAA National Basketball Championships

UNIONTOWN, Pa. – The 2012 USCAA National Basketball Championships are gearing up to be held for a fourth year at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, and volunteers for the event, which runs from March 6 to 10, are still needed as ticket takers, ushers, attendants, videographers and more.

Vince Capozzi, athletic director at the Fayette campus, said “This annual tournament has brought the Fayette County community and the campus together in a unique way. Community members get to interact with and watch athletic teams from across the country, and the athletes get to learn about Fayette County and southwestern Pennsylvania by interacting with community volunteers.”

The USCAA Tournament activities kickoff Tuesday, March 6, with skills competitions. Action in the in Men’s Division I, Men’s Division II and the Women’s Division championships begins with a full slate on Wednesday, March 7, and continues daily through Saturday, March 10. The 2012 tournament will feature 34 teams playing 43 games over the four-days of play.
