Renaisance Fund established at Penn State York

Penn State York recently established the first Renaissance Fund at the campus thanks to a $30,000 gift from Susquehanna Bank to meet the minimum endowment requirement for the fund. This Renaissance Fund is dedicated to students who begin their Penn State journey at Penn State York. This fund will provide a Penn State York student with about $1,500 per year at current endowment spending rates.  The scholarship can be renewed each year for up to eight semesters.

For more than 40 years, the Renaissance Fund has been providing life-changing opportunities to the brightest students, traditional and nontraditional, who might not otherwise be able to choose Penn State. Awarded based on financial need and academic merit, Renaissance Fund Scholarships are considered  the perfect embodiment of Penn State’s land-grant mission to support academically talented students who show great potential, but for whom the cost of a Penn State education is a significant barrier to success.

Renaissance Fund Scholarships may be designated as University-wide or targeted to a particular campus, but no other criteria (college, academic major, geographic origin, etc.) may be specified, to ensure that support is being directed to the most talented students with the greatest financial need. The group of students who receive Renaissance Fund Scholarships reflects the diversity of Penn State as a whole.
