UHS welcomes new gynecologist

Robin Oliver recently joined the staff of University Health Services (UHS), Penn State's student health service at the University Park campus. Oliver will serve as chief gynecologist for Women's Health.

A graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Oliver brings over 20 years of clinical experience to UHS. Prior to joining Penn State, Oliver served as staff physician with Mount Nittany Physician Group and as assistant clinical professor of obstetrics in gynecology for the College of Medicine, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. A former department chair for obstetrics and gynecology at Mount Nittany Medical Center, Oliver also has served on the board for Centre Medical and Surgical Associates.

"My goal is to help young women take an active role in their gynecologic health," said Oliver. "I'm interested in helping students balance the academic demands of life at Penn State with good health habits, too, like stress reduction and exercise."

Evan Pattishall, clinical director, added. "Women's health services are an integral part of the medical care offered at UHS. We are pleased to have Dr. Oliver leading our efforts to improve the health of our female students."

UHS offers a full range of women's health services for Penn State students including annual exams, birth control starts and counseling, STI testing, pregnancy testing, and colposcopy. UHS provides nationally accredited medical care and health promotion services that help students get healthy and stay healthy. In addition to medical treatment for illness and injury, on-site services include lab, x-ray, pharmacy, a nutrition clinic and physical therapy.
