Professor wins best author award

Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, associate professor of English at Penn State Altoona, has won the 2012 Liberian Entertainment Award for best author.

The Liberian Entertainment Awards Committee honors Liberians who are making a difference in the Liberian community in various categories, including best artist, best community crusader and best actor, among others. The awards committee uses this forum to raise support for scholarships for Liberian students in the United States and also gives support to Liberian communities in need.

Wesley was announced as the winner at an awards ceremony in Atlanta, Ga., on Jan. 28.
