UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- "SandStory: The Art of Joe Castillo" will will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, in the Maggie Hardy Magerko Auditorium at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. The event, which is free of charge and open to the public, consists of art images created by Joe Castillo as he uses his hands to draw in sand on a light table. The performance is scored and choreographed to recorded music, and it is performed live on stage.

Castillo’s love for stories moved him to the realm of becoming a motivational performing artist and storyteller where he developed SandStory, ArtStory and WordStory presentations in both English and Spanish. His art has been sold worldwide and his presentations have been seen by hundreds of thousands of people. Castillo has performed across the United States as well as in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Beijing, China.

Chad Long, assistant director of student affairs at Penn State Fayette, said “This is not your typical performance. SandStory is a unique opportunity for the campus and the community to experience art and music in unexpected ways.”
